In response to the health related challenges facing the children under its support, in 1993 the EOTC-CFAO established a medium clinic that would provide medical care to the children. Gradually the clinic grew into a higher clinic and in September 2006 it was upgraded to the level of a health center. But, despite the commendable heath care and treatment services the Clinic had been rendering to its clients, it was not able to accommodate the growing number of patients due to a variety of reasons. This situation led to a decision to raise the health center to general hospital level. To that end, the EOTC-CFAO hired a professional consultant to study the available opportunities for reinforcing the operational capacity of the Health Center by raising it to a hospital level. Based on the recommendations of the consultant and after having met all the requirements set by the Ministry of Health (MOH), Megbare Senay Health Center was upgraded to a level of a general hospital in October 2009.
